My Allegiant Air Experience

Hi babes!

I wish there was a way that I could start off this post super happy, but there is no way that can happen.  It is my mission to make sure that I keep my viewers informed to the best of my knowledge, and let you know up front what has happened in my life.  Like any blogger or anything, these are just MY experiences.  However, as a consumer, watching/reading reviews and seeing how other people react, were treated etc can help us make a better decision in what we do in everyday life.  So here is my honest opinion about my experience with Allegiant Air.

If you live in California, you have most likely heard about Allegiant Air.  It is a very cheap airline, mostly servicing California with cheap flights to Las Vegas.  That is exactly where I was going!  Exactly last Thursday, I was set to fly out to Las Vegas for my vacation.  I live about 8 hours driving time away from Vegas, and it is honestly a TERRIBLE drive.  It is usually scorching, and smells like cow butt for majority of the trip.  So, I was thinking to myself....BEEN THERE. DONE THAT.  Let's just fly.  My friend and I have had this trip planned for over a year, we were going to see One Direction both nights they were performing at Mandalay Bay.  So we booked our flight all the way back in January, the start of 2013!  That is so long ago!  A few months ago, we were notified that our flight departure time had changed and that we needed to confirm the new time.  I didn't really think anything of this, we still had a few months until our actual trip and I just thought I didn't really have a say in the matter.  So, whatever.  It happened.  I soon forgot about it.  Then, the trip started approaching.  In preparation for the trip, I signed myself up for alerts to be sent to my iPhone, just in case there was another change in the flight.  Finally, August 1 was here!  I was BEYOND excited for this trip.  Obviously I was going to see my 5 loves of One Direction, and I was also going to be hanging out with my other directioner friends.  I was anxious and patiently waiting to get ready to leave to the airport.  Our flight had been changed to leave about 5:15pm and so I literally was waiting ALL DAY.  Around 1:30pm, I got a text saying the the departure time had now changed to 6:35pm.  I was literally just about to leave for the airport, this text came just in time.  I was already irritated that the plane was leaving so late, so when I got this message I was getting more irritated.  So, I called my friend and told her we needed to wait a little bit longer to head to the airport.  Then, as we were about to leave to head to the airport for our flight, I got another text saying that the new departure time wasn't until 9:35pm and we wouldn't be landing until 10:45pm!  I came absolutely unglued.  My friends and I had booked tickets to see Thunder from Down Under that night at 11pm.  Our flight originally was supposed to get in to Vegas at about 6:30pm, more than enough time to get to the show.  But now, there would be no way we could get to the show on time.  We had bought them pretty early too, so we had front row seats basically!  Now just imagine 2 anxious girls getting this news that not only their flight is delayed AGAIN, but now they are missing the show that they had ALREADY PAID.  I was freaking out.  Ya, I was mad about the entire situation, but mostly because I knew it would pretty much be impossible to get a refund on the tickets for the show.  I know everyone can relate to the fact that they don't want their money just going down the toilet for nothing!  I work hard for my money, as does everyone else.  I was livid.  As we were freaking out, my friends boyfriend said we should go to the airport and see what the heck was going on.  We agreed, we needed someone to talk to.  We had been trying to call Allegiant on the phone and could not get through to a person to talk to.  We drive about 35 minutes to the airport only to be greeted by a man who worked for Allegiant (poor guy) and he proceeded to tell us that our flight was canceled.  Ya you read that right.  So I had been getting updates on my phone saying that the flight was DELAYED, not CANCELED.  Why was it so hard for them to tell us that it was in fact canceled.  We could have left hours ago!  Yet instead, we were twirling our thumbs for the entire day.  His reason for the cancelation was that our plane was stuck in Boise and they couldn't repair the plane.  He gave us two options, 1) take the next flight tomorrow and 2) call this number on his little cut out piece of paper and get a refund.  Just great.  What a mess.  I was surprised how easy it was to get the refund, however that didn't change the fact that we needed to get 8 hours away to our destination.  There was absolutely no way that I was going to risk flying and having them mess up my plans that I had had for over a year.  I have had my One Direction concert tickets for over a year and there was no way that I was going to let them jerk me around some more.  So, we drove in my car.  I have no idea how, but we made it there in 6 hours flat.  We arrived in Vegas at 12:30am.  On the way driving, I came to this conclusion: I will never spend a penny at Allegiant Air again.  But I did figure this out.  If they had just been honest and let us know what was going on sooner, I probably would keep my business with them.  Instead, they kept their consumer in the dark, wasting an entire day of my vacation, potentially ruining my vacation.  I am not the only person that has had a bad experience with this airline either, both my roommate/friend and my parents had bad experiences in the past 2 weeks.  Both had delays in their departure, nothing but warm air circulation in the vents and mediocre service.  Oh ya, here's the kicker: I didn't get a cancelation message until after 9pm.  So if we hadn't of gone to the airport and if we were just listening to the text alerts, we wouldn't have known until less than 30 mins before our flight was supposed to take off.  SMH.

So what is the moral of the story?  It's basically you get what you pay for.  This airline is a very cheap option for people to make short flights but my time was worth more than the $166 round trip flight that was refunded to me.  I lost out on a experience of a show with 2 of my girlfriends, I lost out on time spending with my friends that I never get to see, and I was stressed out to no end majority of the day and night.  I can't guarantee that no other airline could do this to you, but at least a more reputable airline might have more consideration and or options for you so you're not stuck and backed into a corner, helpless.

Hopefully this review you can learn something from.  If anything, I hope it just makes you all aware of the experience I had with Allegiant Air.  I will be doing a post about my concert experiences as well as on my YouTube channel (beaimplified).  I wish you all a wonderful evening and I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read what I have to say!

Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow Review

These new Maybelline cream eye shadows are getting SO MUCH HYPE on YouTube and blogs everywhere.  Most people say they are a dupe for MAC Paint Pots.  While I don't own any MAC Paint Pots to compare, I can compare them to other cream shadows that I have tried in the past.

Watching various beauty gurus on YouTube and reading blog posts about the 24 Hour Color Tattoos, all of them talk about how long lasting this product is.  I don't think that anyone in their right mind would want to wear eyeshadow for 24 hours or expect it to last for that long.  A lot of other bloggers say that their experience with the wear was that they didn't need to use a primer and that they experienced no creasing.  (Just in case you are unsure of what primer does, it makes the shadow more vibrant and it prevents creasing from happening)  This was not the case for me however.  I don't think that I have particularly oily eyelids, but these cream shadows creased for me (not badly, but still did) and also lost their pigmentation after a few hours of wear.  At the end of the day the color was faded, and it was hard to even see what color I was wearing on my eyelids.  I thought that it might have just been because of the fact I wasn't wearing any primer.  I tried wearing primer and I still experienced creasing and the pigmentation fading.  I'm not quite sure why I seem to be the only one with this opinion?  While I still like these cream shadows A LOT, I just don't think that they are the new holy grail product like all of the reviews.  How I can see these are worth the hype that they are getting is the fact that the colors in the range are gorgeous and unique.  I don't think many people can say that they have seen a pretty decent cream eye shadow in orange, teal, emerald and purple!  In comparison to the MAC Paint Pots, I can also see why people will be reaching for the Maybelline Color Tattoo's.  The Color Tattoo's range from $6-$8 depending on what drugstore you purchase from for .14oz of product.  They are now at Wal-Mart, so that is the cheapest place I have seen them so far.  The Paint Pots will cost you $17.50 for .17oz of product.  So pretty even in how much product you actually get, but the price difference will definitely draw people to the Color Tattoo's more.  For the price of one Paint Pot, you can get 3 Color Tattoo's!  Kinda a no brainer!  You are also getting a lot of product with the Color Tattoo's.  I mean, for me to actually hit pan on one of these babies is going to take me a LONG time!

Another reason why these are great for the price is because they have such awesome pigmentation.  Even though yes, these creased on me, I can't take away from the fact that with one swipe you have an incredibly saturated swatch of color.  From other reviews I have heard that the only color that doesn't live up to the pigmentation is the "Painted Purple".  Of the three that I have, two of them are shimmery and one is a matte finish.  Tough as Taupe is matte and I love this color for an everyday, classic smokey eye look.  What I like doing with this color is applying it all over my lid and then taking tease from the Naked 2 palette in the crease.  It looks awesome and it literally takes me about 2 minutes to do!  In the morning getting ready for work, I don't want to fuss over my makeup.  I want to get up and go!  My second color, Bad to the Bronze, I actually like this color by itself a lot of the time.  I am not really the type of girl who likes to apply 3 or 4 shades of shadows on my lids to get that gradient affect.  I am not very patient haha.  But I do like applying this shade with just a hint of Blackout from the Naked 2 palette to deepen the outer v.  Keep in mind, use a light hand with the Blackout.  Lastly, I love Pomegranate Punk.  I love the berry burgundy shade!  Again, I like using this one by itself.  I think it is really pretty using this and blending it to be more of a sheer wash of color over the lid, pairing it with a pretty blush for that amazing springtime flush look.  I like to pair it with the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Plum Wine.  On another note, I also like to use my fingers to apply the shadows to my lid.  I find I have more control blending out the product, it is more simple this way and also the warmth of my fingers warms the product up making it that much more easy to apply/blend etc.  Hope you like the suggestions of how I like to use the colors I have! :)

I also really like the packaging for this product!  The shadows are in a glass container with a lid that screws on and off.  A lot of times affordable drugstore products have such horrible packaging and even though it is considerably cheaper than a high end product, it dries out or gets ruined quickly and you have to repurchase   it!  So kudos to Maybelline for making a product that has effective packaging!  I also really like the fact that it has the description of the product on the top of the lid, and you can see the color on the bottom of the glass container!

Here are the three shades that I purchased.  I bought Bad to the Bronze (left), Pomegranate Punk(middle), and Tough as Taupe(right).  The swatches are below and there are no filters; just the lighting in my kitchen :)

Click the link below to be connected to Maybelline's website for more information and also to see the other colors in the range!  (I didn't purchase the rest and I didn't have any other pictures to show you!)

Overall, I really like this product even though I did experience creasing.  I wish that it didn't do that for my eyelids, but with all of the other great things about this product, I will keep the colors I have.  While I am not sure if I would actually repurchase the product simply for the fact that I seem to be the only person in the blogging world that experience creasing, I would definitely say that this product is worth for every girl to try! This product is very accessible, and easy to use!  The application and blending of this product is so easy and effortless that this would be a great product if you are just starting off with makeup as well!  These beautiful colors are very affordable and you can find these at any drugstore near you.  If you try these out, I would love to hear what you have to think about them!  Leave me a comment below if you have tried them and tell me what you think!

Hope this was helpful for all you beYOUties out there!

Until next time......

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush Review

Finally the time has come.......

I am beyond excited to write about the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes!  I have heard so much about these new blushes for the past few weeks and I was ecstatic when I finally found these at CVS.  So what's so amazing about these bad boys?  These are by far the most amazing cream blushes I have tried out so far.  I have a few from MAC and I have tried out some Revlon ones before but none of them compare to these bouncy blushes in my opinion.  What sets these apart from the rest of any drugstore cream blushes is how seamless and blendable they are.  While the pigmentation is extremely buildable, it virtually takes no effort to blend the blush into your skin making it look flawless, and natural.  I love how these blushes don't go on your face and you look like a clown.  These blushes are so silky and it gives you this gorgeous flush that looks believable!  There are 10 different shades in the range and I decided to only get two; Plum Wine (a dark burgundy) and Hot Tamale (a bright red with orange undertones).  While I am not at my darkest skin tone now, I do have olive skin and I was drawn to the most bold shades of the range.  While they look like they are going to look too crazy on in the package, it is a sheer wash of color.  If you are tan like I am, I would definitely suggest Plum Wine and Hot Tamale to be your choices because the other colors probably won't show up on your skin tone.  The other colors in the range are different variations of pinks and while they are beautiful, they definitely would only be useful for people with lighter complexions.  I feel like some drugstore products are very reasonably priced and worth their cost, and while I am in love with these blushes, I still feel like they are slightly overpriced.  Maybe that is because I got them at CVS?  Who knows....but when I purchased these they were over $8 for .19oz of product!  Yikes!  On the other hand, I would definitely rather pay $8 for a product that does a better job (in my opinion) than a MAC cream blush for about $20.  So when you look at it that way, yes, it is so worth a try.  And the reason why I will certainly keep using and purchasing this product is because of the way that the blush looks on my skin.  I have experimented with blush and usually I don't especially like how I look with blush (I would rather just use bronzer), but these give me a soft, romantic look and I love it.
These blushes have the craziest texture ever to them.  They are very silky to the touch and when you press down on the product, it is like you are touching memory foam!  It is the coolest thing I have ever seen with makeup!  It is very innovative and it's such a fun, unique spin.  The packaging is nice, compact and simple.  It has a nice clear cover where you can see what color the product is with the product description on the back of course.  The packaging is easy to open, but stays securely shut.  A lot of times I have noticed that it can be hard opening drugstore compacts and it's nice that for once one is reliable enough so you're not afraid of the product opening up on you, yet it's easy enough to have quick access.  I also like how there isn't a lot of extra bulky packaging to make it appear like there is more product.  I'm not sure why some companies do this, but it's a waste of materials.

Anyways, these are going to be permanent items for Maybelline (or so that I have heard) and a lot of times CVS and other drugstores offer a buy one get one half off special.  Overall, I think these are great quality products at a fraction of the price compared to high end products.  They are fun, and will give you a fresh look, just in time for spring around the corner.  :)  Hope this review was helpful and here are some pictures of the two blushes that I have.

Until tomorrow.....
