DIY Teeth Whitener

This is my very first Pinteresting Experiment!  This one is going to take awhile to have a full opinion on the DIY, but I thought that I would let you all know what I think about it so far!

Most people tell me that I have white teeth and that I don't need to worry about whitening them.  But as you can see from my picture, I do have some discoloration on my teeth and in between my teeth.  I am kinda weird about my teeth and I like them to be as white as possible.  I have used plenty of different teeth whiteners and I have to say the only one that actually works is the Crest Advanced Whitestrips.  They really make my teeth white and I can definitely notice the difference in my teeth.  The downside to these strips are that they cost about $50!  That is very expensive!  I know for white teeth I would invest a lot in my teeth, but for the average person, $50 can be a lot to part with.  Not only that, but they were so painful for me to use.  My teeth get so sensitive after I use the strips, its pretty unbearable at times.  That's when I saw this easy recipe on Pinterest.  It's a DIY teeth whitener that just requires 5 drops of hydrogen peroxide and a tablespoon of baking soda.  You brush your teeth with the mixture, leave it on your teeth for a few minutes and you repeat until you reach your desired shade.  I just started this tonight, and I will give it a few weeks before I take an after picture, but I wanted to keep you all in the loop as to something that I am trying out!  I do have to say that the taste of the mixture is pretty nasty tasting.  I also felt a slight burn from the DIY paste, which went away as soon as I rinsed out my mouth.  But what I do really love about this new concoction is that my teeth have NEVER felt so clean.  After rinsing my mouth and then brushing my teeth with my regular toothpaste, my teeth just had that super clean feeling you get when you just have them cleaned at the dentist.  I am very excited to see if this experiment works!  Until then, I will keep you posted in a few weeks about my results!

Always,

Aims XO
