Merry Christmas

Photobucket

I just wanted to take a quick moment to tell all of you Merry Christmas! I hope that you are able to spend time with your loved ones and the people that bring great meaning to your life. Remember to be patient, polite and gracious to everyone around you as well. Being kind to others no matter who they are never goes "out of style".

 Merry Christmas loves!

CVS Clearance

Photobucket

I love going to CVS, it is one of my guilty pleasures in life. Even though a lot of things can be overpriced, there are some awesome deals if you are patient enough to check back in every once in awhile. I was at CVS to make a return and I can never not go to the makeup section and check things out. I was so happy to see that there were items on clearance in pretty much every makeup brand! SCORE! I was ecstatic to find that the drugstore concealer that I use was 75% off! I purchased what they had left in my shade and for two awesome concealers I only paid $5.37! That was definitely one of the best finds I have had out shopping lately. If you have time, you might want to cruise on by CVS and see if they have any products that you like on clearance.  Let me know in the comments below if you would like me to do a full review on this concealer!

 Until next time!

Just Dance 4

Just Dance 4 (Wii)

Just Dance 4 (Wii) (clipped to polyvore.com)

Hello beautiful people!  I just got home from such a fun night and I just had to share about it.  I haven't had a Wii for awhile now, but I love the game system.  I really miss mine and after tonight I wish I had another one!  I have never played any of the Just Dance games but I have been dying to try one.  As weird as this sounds, I love to dance.  I am a terrible dancer, but I love watching or learning dance steps.  I went over to my friends house and we had such a blast.  Not only was it so much fun, we were all dripping with sweat.  It was an amazing workout, I can already feel myself getting sore everywhere.  Not that I am some fitness whiz or anything, but I do keep up with staying active and I found myself catching my breath!  I would highly recommend this for someone wanting to try something new and fun to their fitness routine.  My favorite song was of course "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction!  I picked the curly-ish haired dance avatar to give me the Harry Styles vibe.  :)  If you are hesitant to spend the $40 on the game without knowing what you are getting into, try your local RedBox!  That's what we did.  I rented the game for just over $2 which I think is an amazing deal considering you could play this game for forever and that way you know exactly what the game is like without any strings attached!  Anyways, just thought I would share my experience with you!  Have a great hump day tomorrow!

Bath & Body Works, Bed Bath & Beyond Haul

Hey lovelies!  How has your weekend been?  Mine has been pretty relaxed, I still have a little cold and I have been really tired this week!  I also think this is because I am preparing myself mentally and physically for the week that I have ahead of me.  I still can't believe that Christmas is 9 days away.  That's absolutely insane to  me.  It was just yesterday that it was Thanksgiving and Black Friday!  Some people have told me that when you get older, time goes by a lot faster.  This has been the case this year and I don't like it! LOL

Quick update on my DIY teeth whitener experiment.  It's been just over a week since I started the experiment and I just want to clarify that I am not using the paste mixture everyday.  I have done it 3 times so far, so roughly almost every other day.  So far I am loving how clean my teeth feel.  I love that clean, polished feeling of my teeth.  As far as whitening my teeth, I obviously need to give it more time.  I think this experiment will probably take a month for me to really see any differences.  I am not really seeing my teeth getting any whiter yet, but I will let you know how it's going.

A few days ago I went shopping with my friend, Heidi.  It was a fun Christmas shopping trip and I made a video showing you all my haul.  It is a small haul, so don't expect anything crazy haha.  Hope you enjoy it!

I love watching the What's In My Purse videos on YouTube.  Here is my video below with all my random junk that I carry around with me everyday!

What do you keep in your purse?  What's the most random thing you keep in your bag?  Let me know, I'd love to hear about it!

DIY Teeth Whitener

This is my very first Pinteresting Experiment!  This one is going to take awhile to have a full opinion on the DIY, but I thought that I would let you all know what I think about it so far!

WARNING!!!!! EXTREMELY CLOSE UP PIC OF MY MOUTH...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

[This is what my teeth look like right now]

Photobucket

Most people tell me that I have white teeth and that I don't need to worry about whitening them.  But as you can see from my picture, I do have some discoloration on my teeth and in between my teeth.  I am kinda weird about my teeth and I like them to be as white as possible.  I have used plenty of different teeth whiteners and I have to say the only one that actually works is the Crest Advanced Whitestrips.  They really make my teeth white and I can definitely notice the difference in my teeth.  The downside to these strips are that they cost about $50!  That is very expensive!  I know for white teeth I would invest a lot in my teeth, but for the average person, $50 can be a lot to part with.  Not only that, but they were so painful for me to use.  My teeth get so sensitive after I use the strips, its pretty unbearable at times.  That's when I saw this easy recipe on Pinterest.  It's a DIY teeth whitener that just requires 5 drops of hydrogen peroxide and a tablespoon of baking soda.  You brush your teeth with the mixture, leave it on your teeth for a few minutes and you repeat until you reach your desired shade.  I just started this tonight, and I will give it a few weeks before I take an after picture, but I wanted to keep you all in the loop as to something that I am trying out!  I do have to say that the taste of the mixture is pretty nasty tasting.  I also felt a slight burn from the DIY paste, which went away as soon as I rinsed out my mouth.  But what I do really love about this new concoction is that my teeth have NEVER felt so clean.  After rinsing my mouth and then brushing my teeth with my regular toothpaste, my teeth just had that super clean feeling you get when you just have them cleaned at the dentist.  I am very excited to see if this experiment works!  Until then, I will keep you posted in a few weeks about my results!

All I Want for Christmas....

Christmas Gift Ideas

Christmas Gift Ideas by beaimplified featuring a lip treatment

Here are the ideas that I came up for Christmas gifts.  I would personally want all of these items and they are so cool [at least in my opinion!]

I'll start from the top left and work my way around in a circle to the different items on the list.

First up, the marshmellow/smores roaster.  I think this is such a fun gift.  I mean, I get that you could totally roast a marshmellow over the stove.  But this is just a fun gift that you can share with your friends.  It's unique!

I love bracelets, especially ones that have cool quotes or designs.  I love the movie the Lion King and I am pretty sure Hakuna Matata is one of the most well known mottos to live by.  I think its simple, but something you can't necessarily find anywhere.  I'd wear this everyday if I had it!

The Lorac Candy Full Face Collection Kit.  I think the packaging is absolutely adorable!  They all look like pretty little chocolate bars!  Such a cute idea! This set is awesome because there are 4 different eye shadow mini palettes, a cream eyeliner palette and also a lip and cheek tint palette.  This collection has everything you could possible need to make a variety of looks.  I think this collection for $60 is a steal! These aren't your everyday products, these are high quality products that will wear well and last a long time.  Excellent for any makeup lover.

Superhero keyboard cover.  This is probably the coolest keyboard cover that I have seen.  I may not be an avid superhero fan, but I think it's a nice way to spice up the ol' boring keyboard.  The characters are so cute you can't help but smile! :)

Lush Fresh Mask in Cupcake.  Lush is an awesome natural personal care store.  Everything is all natural and it's ingredients are vegetarian with little to no preservatives.  I have tried this mask before and there are plenty of fresh masks that you can get at Lush for your specific skin type.  The Cupcake mask is for oily skin.  It seriously smells so amazing and feels so good on the skin.  Only problem is is that the fresh masks are only available in stores, not online.  Other than that, it is a great gift; like a spa in your own home!

The Sweet Lips Lip Scrub from Lush.  I have this lip scrub and I know you can make homemade lip scrubs, but if you're in the market for a good scrub, this one I recommend!  It is awesome.  It smells like a hint of chocolate.  It makes my lips feeling soft and it tastes good to lick off your lips!

Game controller for iPhone.  For any gamer in your life to add a little spice playing those games that suck you in for hours. LOL.  I don't play games too much on my phone but if I had a controller it would be much easier to play them.

iPhone Projector.  I use my iPhone for a lot of things, including downloading movies and music videos.  This is a cool way to watch everything that you have on the "big" screen.  I love movie nights and this would be a cool way to gather your friends and family.  It makes you feel like you're at the movies but obviously way more comfy in your own home!

Jenna Marbles shirt.  I am a huge Jenna Marbles fan.  If you don't watch a lot of YouTube you probably will be confused about this gift.  To make a long story short, I'll just link the video here for you to watch for yourself....then you'll want the shirt. HAHA

iPhone Bottle Opener.  I think this gift is pretty handy.  I would say most cell phone users nowadays have iPhones, and it's always convenient to have a bottle opener...if you are of age to drink those special beverages.

Hangover Coffee Mug.  I love the Hangover.  It's a good laugh for sure.  I think everyone can use a funny coffee mug....so why not the one man wolf pack?

Cookie Mug.  I know I just had a coffee mug on here but how legit are these guys?  I would love to use this for milk and cookies!  I mean the possibilities for what you could put in the mouth are endless [ok that sounded weird but you know what I mean].  I have seen people put donuts in the mug as well!  What a cool/unique gift!  I want it!

The Buffy Bar from Lush.  This list makes it seem like I am a huge Lush advocate.  I love a handful of products from Lush; and most of them are on this lists.  LOL.  This Buffy Bar is probably one of the greatest things I have used.  I have sensitive skin and have a lot of small red bumps all over my skin aka  keratosis pilaris.  The worker at the store rubbed this Buffy Bar on my skin and I have never seen my skin the texture it became.  My skin was smooth, hydrated, soft and felt so good.  So if you're looking for a good body scrub, the Buffy Bar is awesome!

Lush Bath Bomb.  Ok! Last Lush product.  Bath lovers pay attention!  This is a nice way to turn a bath into pure luxury. They have so many different flavors to choose from it seems endless!  Just watch out, some have glitter in them!

Zumba DVD Kit.  I love Zumba and I love a good workout without it feeling like a workout.  I used to go to Zumba classes, but when you add it all up, why not just get the DVD and do it at home?  Good health is all about taking care of yourself, so why not have a dance party for healthy living?!

Sephora Fragrance Sampler for Him and Her.  These are so awesome; such a cool concept.  Smelling good is important but I think it is a very personal choice of what fragrance you want to smell like.  These samplers are neat because you get samples of a bunch of different fragrances.  You can test them out on your body and pick and choose what you like.  Inside, there is a voucher that you can trade in for a full size fragrance of one of the fragrances you sampled.  So cool!

The Clarisonic Mia.  I have done a few reviews on the Clarisonic and I love mine [once I really learned how to use it].  I think this is a great gift for someone who loves skincare!  It has changed my skin and I couldn't imagine not having mine!

Trader Joe's Cookbook.  Cookbooks can be tricky because they can often require so many ingredients! I am a lazy cooker and I don't want it to be complicated with a ton of things needed for a recipe.  I think this is great that everything you could possibly need for these recipes is at Trader Joe's.  No running around to multiple grocery stores trying to find the ingredients.  Not only that, but Trader Joe's is affordable!

Ticket Stub Holder.  I might buy this for myself!  I know I save a lot of my stubs for movies and concerts but I get paranoid about them staying in good shape.  I literally have envelopes in a special file that holds all of my precious ticket stubs, my priceless memories.  After writing this I honestly think I am going to order one now haha.

Styling Tools Holder.  A great gift for any ladies in your life.  This would be a nice thing to have.  I worry about my straightener when I have it hot or even cooling down.  This would be a perfect place to store my straightener, hairdryer and curler without a care if it's burning my desk.

Last but not least, the Honey Badger Shirt.  I don't think this YouTube video will ever get old for me.  I think it's so hilarious.  I'll link the video in case you haven't seen it either.  Again, I don't think I can really describe it...just watch.  P.S. I want to go back to San Diego to go to the Safari Park just to see the Honey Badger they have there.  They really are badass.

I know this was a long post and it took me awhile to come up with this list.  Hope you enjoyed what I came up with and that it gives you some ideas for those special people you have in your life to give a gift to!

Cheers to the freakin weekend!

Always,

Aimee XO

Things To Come!

Hello lovelies!

I have had this stupid cough for 2 weeks now and let me tell you, I am really over it!  I just want to feel 100% again and in my normal routine but nature is really having its way with me right now.  Along with the stress of not feeling good my skin is screaming at me and this has been a horrible skin week! EEEEK! Oh well, hopefully it all goes away....SOON!

On a brighter note...

I am just letting you all know [whoever reads my blog btw I thank you for reading my randomness and I love you for coming back] that I am going to be starting a few new "projects", if that's what you want to call them.

1. Pinteresting Experiments!  Don't laugh at the name please, it just came to my mind.  LOL.  I am an avid Pinterest user and I could be on the app or the website for what seems to be hours at a time.  I have found so many cool DIY's, recipes, tricks, tips etc.  But how many of these super cool things have you ACTUALLY tried for yourself?  I can only speak for myself, but I have probably only tried 3 things  of my many pins.  So I thought it would be fun to tackle a new project every week and let you guys know if it's really as cool as it seems!  I think this will be a lot of fun!

2. Food accountability!  I am laughing as I am writing this because I just instagrammed a few hours ago my massive ice cream cone I ate and here I am trying to talk about some food accountability.  What a joke!  Well that's exactly the point though.  I have had my fun with food but I only have one body in this lifetime, I need to take proper care of it!  I am going to write down what I eat daily so we can see what's really going on.  Am I going to be insane and eat lettuce? Heck no.  I am going to personally try and cut down my salt intake [I love love love salty foods] and the sweets!  Those are my weaknesses!  Like I said though, it's just to live a healthier lifestyle, not a "perfect" one.  I know how hard it is to eat healthy and exercise, so I'll be you friend through the process!  :)

3. Holiday gift guide!  [David, this is for you!  Thanks for the idea!]  I am going to search the world wide web for some awesome gift ideas.  I am stumped on a few people this year for Christmas, so I think this will be fun searching for some unique gift ideas that people would actually want!  [Or at least what I would want haha]

4. More Beauty and Fashion related posts!  Originally, this blog was supposed to be mainly for beauty and fashion topics but I seem to have made it completely random.  I am going to try and keep it more organized and get back on track with the original plan for this blog.  I just made an online purchase for Sephora, so I have plenty of goodies in transit! :)  Beauty and fashion is where my heart is and it's seriously so fun for me to do anything related!  Blogging is something that I do as a hobby now, but I tell you it would be my ultimate dream to do it for a living someday.  People a lot of times just want to see big numbers in all things related to blogging but it takes time.  Like I have said before, this blog is my baby and I will do what it takes to get to where I want to be....someday.  Even still though, if one person can take away something from what I write then that is success in my eyes.  I just hope you all will grow with me and my blog to hopefully one day see us doing great things.  :)

If you have any questions, comments or Pinterest experiment ideas, feel free to comment below.

Aimee XO

Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket [Left to right: Non Stop Cherry, Forever Scarlet, Relentless Raisin] [Also note: I took this photo right after applying to my hand...the color dries to a matte texture, but with the top gloss it becomes..well, glossy lol]

Hey beauties! While these are not new to the drugstore market, I had to write a review on these babies. I have had these three colors in my makeup collection for I want to say about a year or so now, but they seemed to have gotten lost in my mass of lip products. I wish that I had used/tried them more closer to when I actually purchased them because I would return them in a heartbeat! I don't want to just tell you all about the awesome products out there [even though that's the fun part], but you need to know what to skip in the store as well! So this is my review on the Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor! "All day lipcolor and gloss that works overtime! ColorStay Overtime™ Lipcolor covers your lips in full coverage color and shine for up to 16 hours, no touch-ups needed. One end smoothes on advanced ColorStay™ liquid formula with SoftFlex™ for beautiful, comfortable color that won't kiss off, feather or bleed. The other end brushes on a moisturizing top coat with chamomile and soy extract for all-day glossy softness. Available in 26 gorgeous shades." [Revlon Website] These are the promises that Revlon has for this product. I have to disagree with everything except for the fact that I love how the colors look on my lips! They are really beautiful shades! I wore Forever Scarlet today to work and I had to go to the bathroom within an hour of putting it on my lips because I was focusing too much on my lips instead of work! When I think of a long-lasting lip color that I supposedly don't have to touch up on, I want that to be the case! This stuff immediately dried my lips out and it felt really sticky which I didn't appreciate at all. I think the worst part about this product is that near the end of the first hour I had the product on my lips, it was starting to peel. I could literally feel the color cracking and peeling and coming off of my lips. I didn't want to fiddle or worry about whether or not my lips would be coming off, so off went the lipcolor. So I definitely disagree with this product lasting for 16 hours and touch up free. I also accidentally touched my lips with my hand, and some of the color transferred. This was long after I had let my lips dry and everything. Would I dare try and give a special someone a smooch with this stuff? Heck no! If it came off onto my lips with a small tap from my fingers I doubt I would trust this for a makeout session lets be real. LOL. These lipcolors run for about $9.99, depending on what drugstore you go to. I honestly think I probably got them on sale, which at least drugstores regularly have Revlon lip products on sale. If they actually lived up to their potential, I wouldn't mind paying $10 or so. It would be worth not having to fuss over it! But, since they don't do what they are supposed to, I feel like its a lot of wasted money! [don't remind me I have 3 of them :/ ]

Like I said, I absolutely adore the color selection. I love the rich, deep colors and each of the three shades that I bought [Non Stop Cherry, Forever Scarlet, Relentless Raisin] are all really flattering on my skin tone. If only these colors were in a different formula!!!! What is also nice about the product is that it is easy to use. I'm not just talking about the process of putting the lip color on first and then the top glossy coat. I am referring to the brushes. I think you really are able to have a lot of control with these brushes. When using a lip color that is supposed to stay on my lips for 16 hours, I don't want to mess up! It was easy to trace and fill my lips without any mistakes! Hopefully after reading this you get some good insight on a drugstore product that in my opinion, you should all stay away from.

Hope you all didn't overload on Thanksgiving and that you survived Black Friday as well! Always, Aimee XO

Happy Thanksgiving

Hope that you all had a wonderful day spent with any loved ones that you hold close and dear to your heart.  I had this little girl with me all day and I am so thankful for her unconditional love.  I love that about pets, they accept and love you for you.  It's a beautiful thing :)

I have been working on some blog ideas as well as some series like posts that I am excited about.  Hopefully you all will like the ideas when they eventually come to life.

SuperStay 10HR Stain Gloss™ - Lip Gloss By Maybelline
maybelline.com

This is my new found favorite fall lip combination so far this season.  I am a lip "junkie" and if you go through my makeup collection, one would find a massive amount of lip products everywhere.  With that being said, I am a huge fan of dramatic lips.  This ranges from pretty pinks, classic reds, mysterious dark plum lips, to sassy oranges and all colors in between.  I discovered this awesome duo today and I just had to share with all of you how well these two products work together.

Lets first start off with the Super Stay Stain Gloss.  I was immediately drawn to this color in the store because of the purple.  It was a pretty shade from what it was supposed to look like on the colored cap.  Again, I love bold and so I just went with this color because I feel like I have so many neutral pinkish reds if you know what I mean.  This product is supposed to act like a stain and a lipgloss in one and I feel like it does a decent job at what it claims to do.  I do find the consistency of the product to be a little weird and it seems to smell a bit like kool aid or some sort of flavored children's drink.  I do like how it has a very wide and flat applicator brush.  It covers a lot of lip and the brush is easy to work with.  You need to let the product dry a bit before you start rubbing your lips together or licking them.  The stain usually stays on my lips for a few hours which in my opinion is pretty decent.  I would much rather have something stay on my lips for a few hours and not have to worry too much about it fading and such.  Does it last 10 hours?  Heck no.  But, I do think it is one of the better stains on the market for sure.  Now, here comes the fun part.....On to the baby lips.......

I love any lip balm that is going to give my lips great moisture but also a splash of color.  I have been noticing lately that after doing my makeup, I can't just leave my lips bare.  It just makes me look really off center and kinda pale?  Hope that makes sense.. :)  Anyhow, the baby lips products are awesome.  I just happened to have this baby lips flavor in "Grape Vine" in my pocket throughout the day and it was perfect when my lips were feeling a little parched.  I didn't realize at first how these two lip products would work so well together.  I was really just trying to keep my lips moisturized so I wouldn't be rubbing my lips together.  But these two really compliment each other.  The stain was having pretty good staying power today but with the hint of color of the baby lips, I didn't have to retouch the stain today.  It was quite a pleasant surprise.  Now I am certainly not claiming that my lips looked like when I first applied the stain, but it was a quick and easy option for me to keep my lip color throughout the day without looking in the mirror.

Hope you find this useful and that you are having a fun filled weekend :)

Always,

Aimee XO
